Divine Revelation: Leaving, Visions, and Unexpected Calls

Since we crossed the border back to Canada, God has been continually working on our hearts and characters. It has been exceedingly difficult at times, but it has also been a period rich in love and understanding of His nature.

We took time to rest in the cottage up in the woods, preparing ourselves for the pioneer training school in Quebec. It was pouring rain when we arrived at the school, but Brother Olivier and Sister Lucinda welcomed us into a beautiful cabin in the trees! It was not without sacrifices – there were no toilets and a muddy trail to head back to HQ – but we had no complaints. We were content with what God provided us and grateful to have a cabin to ourselves.

We learned from our past experiences that there are always adjustments to be made when you go to a new place, and this one was no exception. The tight schedule was the main adjustment for us. We had no choice but to split the family – I took part in the daily activities and teaching while Marie took care of the children. We witnessed God’s work in so many ways – through teachings, healings, casting out of demons, confession of sins, water and Holy Spirit baptisms. Being used by God to free the captives and seeing lives changed and transformed is the best feeling in the world.

New Mission

The Buadès family allowed us to stay and rest, but after one week, we felt that it was time for us to leave. I took the lead and reached out to my friends in New Brunswick without waiting on the Lord, but God is good. The same night, my wife had a vision. In this vision, she saw Jeff and Maria three times. We decided to share this with Jeff and Maria in the morning. At daylight, when I told Jeff that we were leaving, he was incredibly surprised and in shock. He told me to wait, as he needed to share something with me, but he had to do something first. In the meantime, we shared Marie’s vision with Maria, and to our amazement, she had a dream the night before. In her dream, she had kids, and at first glance, she thought they were her own children. But after hearing Marie’s vision, she realized that they were our children. Shortly after sharing her dream, Jeff told us what he had on his heart. The day before, while Jeff and I were in my car doing an errand, God spoke to Jeff. God said to “bring them” numerous times to Jeff. He didn’t share it until now, not knowing that we were leaving. He didn’t understand what it meant, but now everything seemed to unravel. We were to join them on their next mission trip to Brockville, Ontario!

Unexpected places

Our meeting point was at a Christian school in the middle of farmland, and we were there to meet Barbara, who was the interim principal. After we shared why we were invited, Barbara gave us a guided tour of the facility. It was clear that a miracle was needed there – the school looked abandoned, with dust collected everywhere, weeds taking over, paint peeling, water infiltration, an unsafe playground, and a gym with asbestos and a need for new flooring. To make matters worse, the school was left with a debt of over $100,000 by the previous principal. The community was divided, and some people had taken sides without considering the children’s future or what God wanted. A series of bad decisions and compromises had led the school to a point of hopelessness.

I’ll be honest – we wanted to leave after just two days. But God gave us hope and told us to wait and trust Him. After the first two weeks, we suddenly became overwhelmed by the amount of work we had. The net had been cast, and the fish were plenty! Healings, deliverance, and baptisms were happening – God was at work! We had a demanding time since we were constantly changing places, the kids needed stability, and we felt like a burden to the team or were being rushed. There were also frictions, but when you put God at the center, breakthroughs will happen, and growth will come out of it. The harvest can be messy but help soon arrived with the families of Jan and Joel.

Disconnected

Later, God blessed us with a travel trailer. We had a home base and more stability for the kids, but it started to take up a lot of my focus. I was constantly tinkering with it, and it also became my retreat when I didn’t feel well. Suddenly, I found myself isolated and caught in a vicious pattern. Something was rising within me, something dark hiding in my heart.

Sitting on a bench in the school playground, my friend noticed my behavior and decided to have a heart-to-heart talk with me. At first, I wasn’t in the mood for a conversation, but after a moment, I told him that I actually had no clue why I was so disconnected. I just felt that something was lacking in my heart, something unholy. And at that instant, God spoke to me. I needed to repent of a pattern, something I had been carrying since I was a child. God revealed it to me – it was jealousy!

As a child, I struggled with self-confidence and always tried to please everyone, especially my role models. When I wasn’t able to, I would be filled with jealousy, and this pattern had persisted into my adult life. But God showed me that this jealousy had died when I was baptized, and I was able to experience a breakthrough as I repented of this sin. It was a sweet moment of liberation and healing for me.

Always keep hope

At the end of our journey in Brockville, we stayed in our travel trailer on the parking lot of a church. God saved the school – their debt was cleared, they got a new gym floor, and the community rallied for the restoration of the building and playground. Additionally, a new fellowship was born, comprised of strong believers, disciples, and doers of the Kingdom.

We learned so much from this experience; it changed us. We had so many divine encounters, with pastors of churches, schoolteachers, ex-convicts, drug addicts, Satanists, witches, people who didn’t even know why they existed, kids who had fallen into dark places. But one thing I learned through this journey is to keep hope. When you carry and bring the light to this world, miracles will happen, people will be changed, and in order to bring hope, you must have hope yourself. This is the Kingdom of God!

HOPE.
